【What】is OZCHIN's Effective Odor Control Formula

【Why】does Activated Carbon Fiber have its unique adsorption properties?

The extraordinary function of ACF lies in its surface being covered with micropores of 0.8-2 nanometers. It has the function of filtering air, and uses "van der Waals forces" to adsorb odor molecules (such as formaldehyde and benzene with molecular diameters of 0.5-0.58 nm) into the micropores, thereby purifying the air. ACF has the characteristics of fast adsorption and desorption. Civil products made of ACF, after reaching adsorption saturation, the material's efficiency can be restored by exposure to sunlight and ventilation, which helps desorb volatile substances. It can be used repeatedly for thousands of times.

【How】 does it capture odors?

A 2021 study (Source: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsomega.1c04196) found that the smell of the Green Leaves is actually caused by a sulfur compound called 3-methyl-2-butene-1-thiol (VSC3). Its structure is very similar to the chemicals in skunk secretions, and it can be smelled even at extremely low concentrations. The physical size of these odor molecules is extremely small, usually between 0.5 and 1 nanometer (nm). This is why simply wrapping Green Leaves in a plastic bag makes it difficult to completely isolate its smell—the molecules permeate through the micropores of the polymer. When odor molecules (such as terpenes or sulfides) float into the micropores of these ACF, they generate van der Waals forces with the carbon atoms. Because this force is very effective in tiny spaces, the molecules are firmly "adsorbed" onto the surface of the carbon, thus being effectively trapped and removed from the air.

【Which】will be better among ACF, Granular Activated Carbon, and Bamboo/Wood Charcoal?

ACF is prepared from organic fibers such as viscose fibers, phenolic fibers, polypropylene fibers, and pitch fibers through high-temperature carbonization and activation under an inert gas atmosphere.
Unlike high-performance activated carbons, standard bamboo and wood charcoal often lack a specialized activation process (such as steam or chemical activation). This results in a poorly developed micropore structure and a much smaller specific surface area. Consequently, they reach adsorption saturation in a very short time and lose their adsorption function.
Furthermore, once saturated, these basic charcoals cannot be easily desorbed in a household setting. If not replaced promptly, the trapped pollutants remain in the activated carbon, they can cause secondary pollution in the living space. Therefore, bamboo charcoal and wood charcoal are not ideal adsorbent materials.

【When】is maintenance or replacement needed?

It is recommended to expose the inner liner to sunlight for 2-3 hours every two weeks to trigger desorption and regeneration to maintain optimal performance. Just simply unzip the bag and expose the inside to sunlight. When a noticeable odor persists even after sun exposure, it indicates that the adsorption sites are completely saturated, and replacement is recommended.

This Hard Shell Lock Bag is great and is very well made. This Bag is very strong and is made out of quality materials. I personally use this Bag for my mirrorless camera. It keeps it protected, water resistant, and locked. The Bag fits my camera and an extra lens with no problems. The extra pockets in the Bag fits accessories. The Lock works well and you just need to push the Zippers into the Lock and set your own Code.

Completely smell proof. Used grinder, open baggies and full dry herb and no smell gets out. Very good value only downside is the zips are very stiff but they kinda have to be to be smell proof

It Works! No matter how smelly it is just keep your hands clean and clean the outside it's a durable hard case. That's the main thing if you take it with you anywhere make sure the outsides clean make sure your hands are clean when you're putting things in it and handling it. That way you're not transferring things to the outside you know what I mean.
